Books are great…if you like to read. What if you are someone who learns better through videos, and struggles to get anything out of books? Or maybe you love to read, but love a good video every now and then.
If that describes you, you’re not alone. I’d love to point you in the direction of an incredible resource:
It’s called “BibleProject.”
BibleProject has an incredible selection of videos, podcasts, Bible studies, and even an app to help us grow in our understanding of God’s Word. Some of these resources are really basic, and some are incredibly deep. In other words, there’s something for everyone here. Some particular highlights:
If you’ve ever struggled to read a book of the Bible and felt like you needed a bit of an overview before you start, BibleProject has created outstanding, short “explainer” videos for every single book of the Bible. Take, for example, this wonderful overview of the book of Ephesians (which we’ll be looking at together for the first half of 2022 on Sundays):
Or if you’re looking for deep dives into the Bible, consider their podcast. After quite a few years, there are hundreds of roughly hour-long episodes covering a whole host of topics. If you can remember me talking about my days on a tree farm, it was their podcast that sustained me!
One of my all time favourite episodes is when Tim and Jon discuss the big picture of the Bible (click below to hear it).
BibleProject is really quite incredible in its size and scope. Is it perfect? Well, not quite. There are one or two areas where I would hold to slightly differing beliefs – but if you are ever unsure of what you’re watching or listening to, feel free to reach out to me and we can wrestle with it together.
Overall, BibleProject is a wonderful resource that I thoroughly recommend taking the time to explore.
