Reflections on our Annual General Meeting

(This wasn’t our AGM, but I love this picture!)

We gathered for our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday evening. As someone who has the privilege of dedicating my time to serving Trinity, AGMs are an excellent opportunity to share all that's happening in the life of the church.

The main headline: God is doing beautiful things in our midst.

In 2022, by God's grace, we experienced growth in several quantifiable ways: attendance, serving, and giving. Today, our life group is flourishing and will need to multiply to continue expanding. There are almost enough children in our midst to start a full-fledged ministry (hallelujah!). There are potlucks, prayer meetings, men's gatherings, games evenings, and parenting groups to look forward to throughout the month. We implemented an interim leadership team and are in the process of joining the Commission family of churches.

Quantifiable growth is a gift, but it's the unquantifiable that I'm most excited about. This is what we can cling to: God is moving among us. The Holy Spirit is guiding and shaping us. We're growing in faith together.

It's an exciting time to be a part of Trinity Church; we get to play a small role in what God is doing here in Red Deer. 2023 will be a year of consolidating our foundations, reaching into the community and moving forward in faith together. I sincerely hope you'll join us on this adventure of worshipping the Lord and pursuing his Great Commission.

As I looked around the room at our AGM on Sunday evening, my overriding feeling was enormous gratitude. What a great God we serve!

Thank you, Lord, for this church family. Thank you, Lord, for all that you're doing. Thank you, Lord, that this adventure is only just beginning.
